Friends,There were 8046 Oklahoma children in foster care on January 2, 2011.  Our mission is to equip local congregations to serve the “Fatherless” in Oklahoma.8046, a conference dedicated to reducing the number of Oklahoma children in foster care will be taking place on Tuesday, April 5th from 9:00am to 3:00pm (lunch included) at Crossings Community Center located at 2208 W. Hefner Road - Oklahoma City, OK 73120. 8046 is for those interested in learning about the obstacles, opportunities, resources and tools available to establish a local church based foster care / adoption ministry to serve our Oklahoma children.  8046 is sponsored by Oklahoma foster care and adoption ministries, Arrow Child & Family Ministry, Oklahoma Department of Human Services, and the Office of Faith-based and Community Initiatives.  This event is free but registration is required.    Click Here for more information and registration.   On Behalf of The Fatherless Among Us,Ben Nockels PS - Our regularly scheduled monthly Networking Lunch will take place as a part of this day long event.  I highly encourage you or another representative from your local church to participate in the entire event, but if you are only able to come for the lunch hour then we have designed the day with you in mind as well.
